Il corso affronta I concetti base della geografia umana e dei rapporti uomo-ambiente; gli aspetti sociali e culturali; le dinamiche economiche; le principali forme insediative; gli effetti della globalizzazione, lo Stato e i confini.

1) Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione - Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di avere compreso in modo sufficiente gli argomenti del programma.

2) Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate - Attraverso gli strumenti cognitivi e i metodi d’indagine propri alla geografia, lo studente dovrà dimostrare di aver acquisito una conoscenza generale nell’ambito della geografia umana ed economica dell’Italia, dell’Europa e del mondo, soprattutto con riferimento ai problemi sociali e sui diversi orientamenti della geografia contemporanea. Lo studente dovrà conseguire un’adeguata capacità di comprensione e utilizzazione delle carte geografiche.

3) Autonomia di giudizio: Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di avere consapevolezza del proprio livello di conoscenza e delle proprie capacità.

4) Abilità comunicative: Lo studente dovrà essere in grado di esporre in maniera adeguata quanto appreso frontalmente e attraverso partecipazione a seminari, conferenze sul tema oggetto della disciplina.

5) Capacità di apprendere - Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di aver sviluppato capacità di comprensione e valutazione critica. Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di aver acquisito tutte le nozioni necessarie per intraprendere gli studi successivi.

Non sono previsti prerequisiti.

L’attività didattica si svolge mediante lezioni frontali (n. ore 30) soggette a valutazione in aula durante prove intercorso, esercitazioni/seminari, sopralluoghi, partecipazione a convegni e conferenze.

La frequenza è consigliata.

1 o 2 prove intercorso.

Le prove d'esame:
- se il numero di studenti è > 10 è prevista una prova scritta consistente in tre domande aperte;
- se il numero di studenti è < 10 è previsto un colloquio orale articolato in tre domande sugli argomenti dell'insegnamento .

Il voto finale (ottenuto dalla media dei voti dei due moduli) sarà calcolato in base ai seguenti criteri di valutazione:
- Mancato superamento dell’esame: il candidato non raggiunge alcun obiettivo formativo;
- Da 18 a 20: Livello appena sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge solo i risultati previsti al punto “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”;
- Da 21 a 23: Livello pienamente sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge, in particolare, i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione” e “applicazione di conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”;
- Da 24 a 26: Livello buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate” e “autonomia di giudizio”;
- Da 27 a 29: Livello molto buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate”, “autonomia di giudizio” e “abilità comunicative”
- 30: Livello elevato. Il candidato raggiunge pienamente i risultati di apprendimento previsti in tutti I punti
- 30 e lode: Livello eccellente. Il candidato raggiunge in maniera eccellente i risultati di apprendimento previsti in tutti I punti.

I concetti di spazio, territorio, paesaggio, ambiente, luogo e regione 0,5 CFU; cenni di storia del pensiero geografico 0,5 CFU; riserve, risorse, combustibili fossili, effetto serra 0,5 CFU; gli strumenti della rappresentazione spaziale 0,5 CFU; il paesaggio, il patrimonio culturale, la green economy 0,5 CFU; i principali paesaggi naturali e umanizzati presenti sul pianeta 0,5 CFU; i principali aspetti di geografia della popolazione (indicatori, piramidi, religioni, lingue, razze) 0,5 CFU; le migrazioni 0,5 CFU; gli indicatori socio-demografici, economici e ambientali 0,5 CFU; gli effetti della globalizzazione 0,5 CFU; le dinamiche economiche e gli impatti sugli equilibri territoriali e sugli ecosistemi 0,5 CFU; lo Stato, i confini 0,5 CFU.

The course deals with the basic concepts of human geography and human-environment relationships; social and cultural aspects; the economic dynamics; the main settlement forms; the effects of globalization, State an boundaries.

1) Knowledge and understanding - The student must demonstrate that he/she has sufficiently understood the topics of the program.

2) Applied knowledge and understanding skills - Using cognitive tools and methods of investigating human geography, the student must demonstrate to acquire a general knowledge in the human and economic geography of Italy, Europe and the world, especially with reference to social problems and the different orientations of contemporary geography. The student will have to achieve an adequate ability to understanding and interpretation of geographical maps.

3) Making judgments: The student will become aware of his own level of knowledge and skills.

4) Communication skills: The student must be able to adequately explain what they learned during lectures and from participation in seminars, site visits, conferences on the pertinent subject.

5) Ability to learn - The student will have to demonstrate to understand and critically evaluate. The Student will have acquired all the necessary knowledge to undertake subsequent studies.

No prerequisites.

The teaching activity takes place through Lectures (30 hours), lab sessions, inspections, seminars, conferences.

Frequency is recommended.

1 or 2 oral tests.

Exam tests:
- if the number of students is > 10 there is a written test consisting of three open questions;
- if the number of students is < 10, an oral interview is scheduled divided into three questions on the subjects of teaching.

The level (obtained from the average grade of the two modules) of overall student achievement and performance is assigned according to a numerical scale and considers the following criteria:
Below 18/30 mark: Fail. The student has not successfully achieved any of the course objectives;
- From 18 to 20: Fair achievement level. The student has only partially reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are narrowly aligned with the category of "knowledge and understanding";
- From 21 to 23: Sufficient achievement level. The student has acceptably reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding" and "application of knowledge and understanding";
- 24 to 26: Good achievement level. The student has effectively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding", "application of knowledge and understanding" and "autonomy of judgement";
- From 27 to 29: Very good achievement level. The student has successively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are fully aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding", "application of knowledge and understanding", "autonomy of judgement" and "communication skills" ;
- 30: Excellent achievement level. The student’s excellent performance has resulted in the full achievement of course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with all the categories;
- 30 cum laude: Outstanding achievement level. The student excels in the discipline, thus fully reaching all course objectives and mastering expected learning outcomes within all categories.

The concepts of space, territory, landscape, environment, place and region 0.5 CFU; outline of the history of geographic thought 0.5 CFU; reserves, resources, fossil fuels, greenhouse effect 0.5 CFU; the tools of spatial representation 0.5 CFU; landscapes, cultural heritage, green economy 0.5 CFU; natural and humanized landscapes 0.5 CFU; the main aspects of population geography (indicators, pyramids, religions, languages, races) 0.5 CFU; migrations 0.5 CFU; socio-demographic, economic and environmental indicators 0.5 CFU; globalization and the effects 0.5 CFU; the economic dynamics and the impacts on territorial equilibria and on ecosystems 0.5 CFU; States, boudaries 0.5 CFU.
