    PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT TEST DETAILS

PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT TEST & LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

(For Italian, EU, and Non-EU students residing in Italy)

Admission to the Master’s Degree Programme in International Relations and Organisations (IRO) is subject to an assessment of the candidate’s personal preparation and language proficiency (Art. 6.3 of the Academic Regulations).

The Assessment Test: The evaluation consists of a test designed to verify that candidates possess the multidisciplinary knowledge – spanning History, Law, Economics, and Political Science – required to successfully engage with the Master’s Degree Programme.

Please note that the test is non-selective; its primary purpose is to identify the candidate’s current level of preparation and ensure academic success. Should the results indicate areas that require further focus, the Teaching Committee will schedule a dedicated interview to provide the student with tailored academic guidance.

English Language Proficiency (B2 Level): All candidates are expected to demonstrate English language proficiency at a B2 level (CEFR) or higher. This requirement can be satisfied by meeting one of the following criteria:

    • International Certification: A recognised certificate (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge) at a B2 level or above.
    • Previous Academic Career: A university-level B2 English exam recorded in the candidate's previous transcripts (the syllabus should clearly state the level achieved).
    • English-Taught Degree: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a programme conducted entirely in English.
    • Native Speaker Status: Documentation confirming native speaker status.

In the absence of the above documentation, the Teaching Committee will evaluate the candidate’s proficiency during a dedicated interview.

Dates and Registration: Candidates are invited to register for the assessment test through the University portal. We recommend checking the calendar regularly for upcoming sessions.
