Il Corso ha lo scopo di studiare la complessità dei mutamenti ambientali in relazione alle modalità con cui le Società umane si sono rapportate ad esso. Si tratta di un approccio storicistico, che si basa grossomodo su due chiavi interpretative: 1) la questione ambientale va letta in relazione non solo attraverso l'ausilio delle scienze delle natura (ecologia, geologia etc.), ma anche dal punto di vista delle Scienze sociali; 2) tra queste ultime risulta centrale l'apporto scientifico offerto dalla Geografia umana, più segnatamente nell'analisi del rapporto uomo-natura. Difatti questa chiave di lettura ci offre l'opportunità di contestualizzare il problema e trovare le opportune soluzioni, da cui hanno origine le politiche ambientali.

Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione del concetto di ambiente e sue rappresentazioni. (1 - knowledge and understanding) La lettura ecosistemica della questione ambientale, i fenomeni di degradazione dell'ambiente, l'evoluzione del rapporto tra ambiente e sviluppo, gli strumenti delle politiche ambientali. Ambiente e partecipazione (2 - applied knowledge and understanding) Autonomia di giudizio nell’interpretare i casi di approfondimento, basata sulla comprensione critica del sapere in chiave sistematica e interdisciplinare (3 - making judgements) Abilità comunicative nell’esporre in modo chiaro e senza ambiguità le proprie conoscenze (in forma orale), saper esprimere le proprie considerazioni e conclusioni anche nell’ambito del dibattito su casi oggetto di specifica analisi collettiva (working class) che potrebbe realizzarsi nel corso delle lezioni frontali o nei seminari di approfondimento tematici organizzati. Dimostrare di saper esporre le nozioni acquisite con coerenza argomentativa, rigore logico-sistematico e proprietà di linguaggio (4 - communication skills) Capacità di apprendere la complessità delle politiche ambientali nella loro dimensione spaziale per consentire la prosecuzione nello studio della disciplina in modo autonomo e consapevole, anche mediante un aggiornamento costante delle proprie competenze (5 - learning skills)

Lezioni frontali con l'ausilio di apparecchi informatici.

Solo prova orale. La verifica consiste in un colloquio articolato e la valutazione rispetta i seguenti criteri: • Mancato superamento dell’esame: preparazione insufficiente • Da 18 a 21: preparazione sufficiente con specifico riguardo al punto 1 degli Obiettivi formativi • Da 22 a 24: preparazione pienamente sufficiente con specifico riguardo ai punti 1 e 2 degli Obiettivi formativi • Da 25 a 26: preparazione buona con specifico riguardo ai punti 1, 2 e 3 degli Obiettivi formativi • Da 27 a 29: preparazione molto buona con specifico riguardo ai punti 1, 2, 3, e 4 degli Obiettivi formativi • Da 30 a 30 e lode: preparazione ottima/eccellente con specifico riguardo ai punti 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 degli Obiettivi formativi. La prova scritta consiste in un test che prevede 15 domande a risposta multipla e 4 domande a risposta aperta. La valutazione corrisponde ai punteggi maturati per le risposte fornite ai quesiti del test: - per ciascuna domanda a risposta multipla la risposta corretta comporta l’attribuzione di un punteggio pari a 1; - per ciascuna domanda a risposta aperta la risposta corretta comporta l’attribuzione di un punteggio da 0 a 4 a seconda che la risposta dimostri un livello di preparazione insufficiente, sufficiente, buono, molto buono o eccellente; - la risposta corretta a tutte le domande a risposta multipla unita alla risposta che dimostri un livello di preparazione eccellente per tutte le domande a risposta aperta comporta l’attribuzione finale del voto di 30 con lode; - il mancato raggiungimento del punteggio minimo di 18/30 comporta il mancato superamento dell’esame.

Data la particolarità dei temi trattati, si suggerisce la frequenza.

The course aims to study the complexity of environmental changes in relation to the ways in which human societies have related to it. It is a historicist approach, which is roughly based on two interpretative keys: 1) the environmental question must be read in relation not only with the aid of the natural sciences (ecology, geology, etc.), but also from the point of view of Social Sciences; 2) among the latter, the scientific contribution offered by human geography is central, more particularly in the analysis of the relationship between man and nature. In fact, this interpretation offers us the opportunity to contextualize the problem and find the appropriate solutions, from which environmental policies originate.

Knowledge and understanding of the concept of environment and its representations. (1 - knowledge and understanding) The ecosystemic reading of the environmental issue, the phenomena of environmental degradation, the evolution of the relationship between the environment and development, the instruments of environmental policies. Environment and participation (2 - applied knowledge and understanding) Autonomy of judgment in interpreting the cases of in-depth analysis, based on the critical understanding of knowledge in a systematic and interdisciplinary key (3 - making judgements) Communication skills in exposing clearly and without ambiguity own knowledge (orally), being able to express one's own considerations and conclusions also in the context of the debate on cases subject to specific collective analysis (working class) which could take place during the frontal lessons or in the organized thematic in-depth seminars. Demonstrate the ability to present the concepts acquired with argumentative coherence, logical-systematic rigor and language properties (4 - communication skills) Ability to learn the complexity of environmental policies in their spatial dimension to allow the continuation of the study of the discipline in an autonomous and conscious way , also through constant updating of one's own skills (5 - learning skills)

Lectures with the aid of computer equipment.

Oral exam only. The verification consists of an articulated interview and the assessment respects the following criteria: • Failure to pass the exam: insufficient preparation • From 18 to 21: sufficient preparation with specific regard to point 1 of the educational Objectives • From 22 to 24: fully sufficient preparation with specific regard to points 1 and 2 of the training Objectives • From 25 to 26: good preparation with specific regard to points 1, 2 and 3 of the training Objectives • From 27 to 29: very good preparation with specific regard to points 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the training objectives • From 30 to 30 cum laude: excellent/excellent preparation with specific regard to points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of the training objectives. The written test consists of a test that includes 15 multiple choice questions and 4 open-ended questions. The evaluation corresponds to the scores accrued for the answers provided to the test questions: - for each multiple choice question, the correct answer involves the attribution of a score equal to 1; - for each open-ended question, the correct answer involves the attribution of a score from 0 to 4 depending on whether the answer demonstrates an insufficient, sufficient, good, very good or excellent level of preparation; - the correct answer to all the multiple choice questions together with the answer that demonstrates an excellent level of preparation for all the open-ended questions entails the final attribution of the mark of 30 with honors; - failure to achieve the minimum score of 18/30 will result in failure to pass the exam.

Given the particularity of the topics covered, attendance is recommended.
